14k Yellow Gold 7.5-8mm Freshwater Cultured Pearl Pendant, 18"

Comment: I bought four of them: one for me and one for each of my three bridesmaids. They are beautiful. The chain is very delicate, but a reviewer for this same necklace with the smaller pearl said she had the chain for five years and it hasn't broken after weekly use. I think a thicker chain would overwhelm the simplicity and elegance of the pearl.

I opted for this version instead of the 6-7mm version because they were the same price at the time I bought it. I would have preferred the smaller one for myself, but it still looks great. It's an accent by itself instead of having a string of pearls.

Before I bought it, I drew a 7.5mm circle on a post-it, cut it out, and stuck it where it would lie on my chest with the 18" chain (right below my collarbone). I looked in the mirror, and it seemed just right to me. It helped me understand just how big it was and if I might need a longer chain.

If you prefer simple jewelry, then this might be a good choice. If you prefer bold jewelry, then you might want something else.

Comment: I purchased this for my wedding. I received it in the nick of time and I couldn't have been more pleased. This is exactly what I was looking for. It looked beautiful and elegant on my wedding day. The bodice of my dress has a lot of pearl details so a solitaire pearl was just enough. Worth the money paid!

Comment: This necklace is very petite in all ways. The pearl is small, the chain is very delicate and relatively short. However, I don't think any of these points are relevant for taking away stars in reviewing the item since Amazon is upfront about the measurements of the necklace. I think this small necklace is well worth the roughly $30 that I paid for it, but certainly not the $100 "list price". I like it and I think it will become an everyday piece for me because it's small enough to work well with lots of outfits from casual to dressy. I'd recommend getting it for yourself or as a gift. Although the chain is very delicate, as other reviewers have mentioned, I must add that I've owned another version of this same necklace (the white gold version) with the same super-thin chain and I've worn it for about 5 years off and on without it breaking. This simple necklace is not going to "wow" anyone due it's diminutive size, but it does add a nice little touch of elegance.

*Please note: I would probably recommend purchasing a nicer gift box for this necklace if you are giving it as a gift because it comes in a relatively cheap-looking pouch and cardboard box as delivered.

Comment: This necklace was not worth buying. The chain looked cheap and the way the pearl was mounted was not attractive. I returned it.

Comment: I bought 3 total of these for 3 young adult women. When I received my first one, I was amazed at how small they were. Delicate is at times elegant, but these are for children. I just hope the chains on them last through the Christmas holiday. :) If you order them, get them for children. They are sweet, but by no means for adult women.
